To our Ice Cream Train passengers: Our retro 1950s dining car Buddliner is currently having a broken rooftop cooling fan repaired. During the repairs we are substituting our Grand Bellevue dinner train consist on the Ice Cream Train runs out of Portsmouth Junction. The change is only temporary and we look forward to having our Budd and its jukebox back soon!
All Aboard the Ice Cream Train, the country’s only 1950s retro style moving ice cream parlor! The Ice Cream Train is one of Aquidneck Island’s great values where children can enjoy a train ride and an ice cream. On the air-conditioned train families can take a short break from a day of sightseeing and relax on a 45-minute, easy-paced, four mile round trip ride. While the train is moving ice cream and toppings are brought to the tables by our staff. Individuals can choose from one of several pre-scooped cups of ice cream: chocolate, vanilla, mix, or the flavor of the week; and then add their choice of toppings (varies on each train – see the menu section for more info!) to make it their own. Reservations are not necessary, but seating is limited.
